Inedible Kitchen Grease Transporter License

In order to legally collect WVO from restaurants, the State requires that you
have an Inedible Kitchen Grease Transporter license and liability insurance.
You can download the application for the license by going to
http://www.cdfa.ca.gov/AHFSS/Meat_and_Poultry_Inspection/MPI_Home.html#mpi11
and clicking on "transporters".
You can call them with any questions at (916) 654–0504.
I also highly recommend reading the legal code associated with greasehauling in the section below.

FOOD AND AGRICULTURAL CODE

Below are links to the codes of the California Department of Food and Agriculture that pertain to grease hauling, or "inedible kitchen grease transportation".  It basically says, be insured, have a Inedible Kitchen Grease Transporter License, keep records and don't be stupid.  There are more details and I do HIGHLY reccomend reading the whole thing.  It's  a pretty quick read (5 minutes) and  is easy to understand.  Members especialy, need to read these codes.

Fuel Tax Information

Every driver in California pays fuel tax for the maintenance of our roads. This includes those of us who use biofuels. For SVO or biodiesel, the tax is .18 /gallon. I have decided I am going to pay this tax and if you want to be completely legal you will need to do so as well.
Below is the form and instructions.

Supplier and/or Ultimate Vendor License Application
